Sliding railway yard gates

Guild member Brian Jones has kindly provided photographs of a railway sliding yard gate still extant at Trentham Station in the Hutt Valley.

Brian notes that presumably large crowds going to the stadium had the same impact on swing gates as cattle.

Note also that the wooden gate appears to no longer be in use as some bright spark has now swung a hurricane gate across the entrance.
